A004 Turtle and the Suede Boots When I was nine years old, all my friends on school had gotten the new style of shoes. They were brown suede boots. Came up to your knees, and had little heels. I wanted a pair. I came home and told my mom, all about the boots. I was so excited because I wanted to have boots like my friends. My mom said no. You have to bring your grades up. You need to study and get some good grades. And then, if you have a good report card, then we will go buy you the boots. So I studied very hard, brought my grades up, did all my homework and the day I got my report card, I ran home and I was so excited because I had good grades. I came in the house and show showed my mom. "Look on my report card, I got good grades." That night, she took me to the shopping mall. I was so excited because I was gonna get my boots. Instead, my mother took me to another store, and bought me a turtle. A live turtle. I was so afraid of that turtle. And until today, Ifm still scared of turtles. But I did get my boots. But I had to do was work on jobs for all the neighbors to make enough money. And then I got my boots, I was happy.
