A022 The Dogfs Cherries OK, so when I was umm, when I was a child we used to go to my grandparentsf house quite often. My grandparents lived in ah South Dakota which was in ah the Midwest. And umm I was I was actually born in South Dakota. And ah, this is ah a story I heard many times growing up. Umm one of our relatives umm Ifm not sure who I canft I canft remember who, but umm one of our relatives when they were very small, they ah, they came into a picnic or a party um, Ifm not sure about the details but um the the child was covered with ah red on his mouth and his fingers and the adults at this gathering asked the child what hefd been doing, as he was covered in red. And he said that hefd been eating cherries off the dogfs back. Umm, and dogs donft have cherries on their back, but what what the dog did have was ticks on his back, and ticks are parasites that suck blood. And when they get, and they get big, they get really big when theyfre full of blood. So hefd been eating these insects off the dog, haha. And ah, yeah thatfs quite disgusting actually. That was umm that was the story I heard many times and umm it was a farm community so I suppose that sort of thing was not very uncommon.
