UK007 My Mum's Younger Life

So when I was younger um my mum told me about um how she grew up and how she met my dad. Um and so my mum grew up in Manchester, and um she lived in a nice big house with my um with my grandma and granddad in a place called Middleton.

And my mum yeah, she ah she went to school and thatfs where she met my dad. And  um They um met when they were in um high school. And they um stayed together ever since. And um my mum told me about how my um my granddad was a conservative counselor and he worked very hard. And then he was successful. And ah he had a ah good business. And they all moved to Scotland. And they have an interesting story about Scotland because, my grandma and granddad and mum had horses. And they had to move them all the way to Scotland. 

And when they moved to Scotland they stayed in a ah a really big house that had an gun room and servants quarters and they.. it wasnft their own house but they basically had to look after it for this lord and lady. At once the lord and lady had it had the queen to stay at their house. And also a famous writer called Beatrix Potter had stayed at their house. And um they yeah they the house was amazing and they had great parties at their house traditional Scottish parties where people had to wear Scottish cloths and we had really great Christmases there. Because when I was a baby um yeah I I I went there once or twice lights were on.

And all my grandma and granddad had to do to stay there, and my mum and my uncle and my auntie,..all they needed to do was just pay for the gardener, to look after the garden.
And and and the house was so big that that they didnft even use all of it because it was so expensive to heat. Um and so when you when my when my mum was telling me about how shefd look around the house she saw lodes of amazing interesting things like they she found the menu from when the queen stayed there like the dinner menu. And all sorts of old antiques. And exploring the house was so big that yeah it yeah the sometimes you could never see all of it in one day. And it was right by to the river, and it was really relaxing. And then um also later later on my mum used go sailing with my granddad, because he had two sailing boats.
 
Um and then later they moved to Whales right by the sea where my granddad built his own house, but um unfortunately my grandfather ended up getting a disease called multiple sclerosis so um he ended up in a wheel chair and he couldnft walk. But they lived in a beautiful place in the country side in Whales as well.

So um that was my life of my mum growing up, so um she had a nice life. And when I think about it, and I see the photographs I think gWow that must have been really nice to go on holiday and live in those places ridding the horses on the country side, and get lost in the fields and the woods and things h And um yeah, yeah my dad was apart from that ever since high school as well so it makes me excited to think back about all those fun times.
